Ok, ok, ok. After reading all the reviews on the first Asus I wanted to buy – ASUS G73JW-ROG Limited Edition Republic of Gamers 17.3″ Gaming Laptop – I was hooked and had to have one. When I had the funds, it became “currently unavailable” which really sucked. Then the A2 version came out. Right now this review is getting 4 stars based off of all the reviews that I read and the specs on this gaming system. In the end, I am pretty sure it will go to 5 stars after I install The Witcher 2 PC game, or it can go all the way down to 1 star if it turns out to be a big dud! The difference in systems being listed below. First for The ROG-LE:

* Limited Edition Gaming Computer (Special)
* ASUS ROG Dogtags w/Limited Edition Serial Number
* Two 500GB 7200RPM Hard Drives with a 4GB Solid State Drive
* Intel i7-740QM 1.73GHz

The A2 model has the rest of the spec’s of the ROG-LE version with two upgrades (or not) but not the Limited Edition Status:

* Two 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drives
* Intel i7-2630QM 2.0GHz

So, when this model came out, my wonderful wife who knew I was depressed when the ROG-LE was no longer available decided to grab this puppy for Fathers Day. Included with this great gift is The Witcher 2 Premium PC game that is going to rock on my new gaming system.

As of now, this review is for some background into the purchase of the A2. It was shipped one day after purchase and should arrive on Monday the 20th of June. There will be a packaging and an initial review followed by a 30 day review. Stay tuned.
